Japanese black pine

May I know if anyone has expereince in growing Japanese black pine bonsai in Hong Kong?  This is supposed to be a temperate plant.  What are the key factors that we have to pay attention to in order to grow it successfully under our sub-tropical climate?  Also, where can I buy it locally?  

You advice will be much appreciated.

Recently I saw a beautiful Japanese black pine offered for sale in the Mongkok flower market.  About 2 feet tall.  It has an informal upright style, nice tapering and root flare.  He asked for several thousand dollars.  Sigh...too expensive.
