我也不知道什麼是高手,說些不知道是什麼的蘭花和螞蟻共生,真是不識蘭花就嚇死,識蘭花就笑死,哈哈............

  Don't know if ants defend their host orchids against herbivores in exchange for a secure and complete food source while orchids feed ants with secretions produced at flower bases, on the surface tissue and tips of buds are regarded as MUTUALISM?! LOL

還有相片中不是螞蟻和蘭花共生,是螞蟻窩,螞蟻窩是共生的話,全世界很多人士是和螞蟻共生,因為家中有螞蟻窩,是嗎?

By the way,i bet you've misunderstood the term Mutualism (互利共生),for simply,it's two organisms which live together in such a way that both are benefited.I'm kinda interested in how you can benefit from ants,really.

The name Myrmecophila is a derivative of the word myrmecophile and refers to the symbiotic relationship with colonies of ants that are usually found living in the large, hollowed-out, banana-like pseudobulbs. An opening in the base of each pseudobulb serves as an entrance for the ants which harvest nectar from the peduncles and flowers and forage on other plants in the community. The ants associated with Myrmecophila tibicinis pack many of the pseudobulbs with debris that includes other dead ants, a variety of insects, pieces of plant material, seeds and sand. Myrmecophila tibicinis directly utilizes minerals of the organic debris ("garbage dumps") deposited by the ants inside the hollow pseudobulbs. Since the open-canopied trees of the tropics can often be nutrient poor habitats, a small input of nutrients from insects can have a significant effect on plant survival and growth rates.

Mention is included of ants associated with other species of orchids collected in the field. Eleven species of ants were fully identified out of a total of 19 species collected. Most species were common inhabitants of secondary vegetation, with some species registered as pests in agroecosystems and human dwellings.................but a defense role is possible for one species, Camponotus novogranadensis, which was observed to be aggressive when the plant was disturbed by touching during visits to the extrafloral nectaries of E. chacaoensis. It is suggested that E. belizensis var. parviflora benefits from the presence of Crematogaster aff. torosa resident in old pseudobulbs, which effectively act as domatias, by absorbing nutrients from organic wastes produced by those ants.''
  



Actually,people did do some studies on the interactions between this two types of organisms and proofed that they are somehow in a relationship of Mutualism.Like what the previous said,websites and reference books are always handy to grab info you want.

基本上其實係以一個蟻巢為一體, 好多時候無得比較
