What i'm looking for is general garden soil, not 100L,but thousands or maybe ten thousand Litre!!!!!
Pls dont tell me to go to supermarket or flower street, the price is ridiculous if you do the maths.
Do anyone knows any soil SUPPLIERS in HK, that can delivery trucks of soil? I don't reali want to taobao all this, wanna support some more local stuff.
1. If you do it on top of the roof, I suggest you to try the "plant soil" because it is lighter and absorp less water. The weight due to the soil on the roof will be less.
2. May be you try to use large pots instead.
3. You still need to think about the penetration power of the roots. They can rip away your water-proof layer easily.
4. I will use old-banner to protect the roof before we plant. OK.
thanks for the advice, i hvnt decided what containers i'll use, most likely will be growing bags. by plant soil, u mean those green soil blocks used to stick in flowers?

you can buy 黃花沙 as the base material, and then mix it with fertilizer to use, but if u buy 黃花沙, you need to go to choose which batch u use, because some of them mix with pebbles, stones...
in yuen long, near fairview park, there are some suppliers there, usually, they measure in 一斗斗( a truck) it would be less than a thousand dollar for one truckful..
thanks a lot, 黃花沙 is definitely a cheap option on my list. I'm sure many farms in NT have the raw materials (peat, compost...), but the problem is I dont know them...so anyone have good contacts ???
johnny,pm you, u try try this man, usually, i bot bag by bag from him, 15 dollar per bag, about 15 kg( i think), but you better ask for a truckful, ask him to quote u the price first
the rice barn, i just pick up in the street, as one of the neighbors i thought he bought some delicate items from china, they still use those rice barn to pack for the fragile things, i collected a big bucket of them
