If you can handle sphagnum moss well, you can control water content in the pot and slower down moss declay rate ~ The longest ones of my record already exceeded 4 years.

However, you should use good quality moss and don't ues tray method to water. The key of success is the control of moss tightness in the pot ~

Don't change part of the substrate just like you shouldn't change half of your used batteries only. Better have all the substrate changed right after growing season comes ~

要睇你種什麼品種
我種豬好少用純水苔,多數是粗粒赤玉土
每次換水苔,根和水苔纏在一起,好難分開=_=
