Do a couple of searched in either yahoo or google and you can find lots of info that you may find interested ~
In short, different origins from Malaysia Penninsula and Borneo ~
toooooo short laaaa.
for the god sake, the Phalaenopsis bellina was simply identified as a "variety" or a "form" under Phalaenopsis violacea
therefore, an idiot saperated them into 2 different species. ironically, the main identification of Phalaenopsis mostly consider their lip petal's lobes and appendicle difference, but no difference between this 2 'identical' twins.
Phal. violacea is native in Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Phal. bellina in Borneo. Sumatra's Phal. violacea got some fasciate pettern on petals but not distinct that Malay's do not have. Phal. bellina got a round appearence of the flower, with violet mark in flower center and green margin petal. |
