Great ~ Look like a Sarr. leucophylla to me but you had better ask WKLee for it's name ~ If I were you, I will pick that plant also. Good choice ~

There is no need to use sand and peat. Mix peat with some perlite ( those you use to grow AV ), it will be perfect ~ However, such tall sarr have the chance of collapse under strong wind. Try to put them in a bigger foam box with water at the bottom ( tray method ). It will be fine ~

And use a bit larger pot to grow. Sarr have a lot of roots ~

oneonewe, the only way to find out whether the medium is correct is to use a conductivity meter to test the medium ... However, sarracenia isn't picky to medium. You can use perlite and peatmoss mix you use in growing AV potting sarracenia. It should be perfectly fine. If you doubt about the soil, just water the plant with plenty of water whenever you have time. Let the water remain drains ~

Sarracenia is easy growing plants and you should be able to grow it well ~ Good luck ~
