豆蘭的花期由一天至一個月不等而花期的長短要視乎品種而定

Blooming duration you mean? I was surprised when the word "life span" was used.  I thought you were referring to the life span of the orchid itself.   

Well, actually I prioritize my preference to the beauty of the flowers, regardless of their short blooming duration. For example, flowers in the genus Epiphyllum have very short blooming duration, usually a night or so. But they are gorgeous

I agree that orchids are easy to grow. It's just they are, in general, comparatively slower growers.   Actually I did realize what you were talking about. No offense, it's just weird to see that word.  :]

Anyway, it's just nice to know more about these Bulbophyllum. Looking forward to seeing more photos of them !~

Actually what I am referring to is Bulbophyllum, not all orchids  ~

Most bulbophyllum are low landers and adapted well to hot humid climate in Hong Kong. Thus they are easy growers and they are growing fast as well. The only reminder is to avoid winter chill that could possibly kill them in such extreme condition.

However there are plenty of intermediate and highlanders in the genus orchidaceae which are not easy to grow here without proper cooling ~
