Have you checked if the root system is healthy? If you are restarting the plant from cuttings, then I'd recommend you to remove ALL the 花 lum
Also, please make sure that your cutting already has a growing point. Otherwise, nothing will come out...

Given the heavy blooming that some Kholeria has, I'm not surprised that it needed the support
My Kholerias grows really quick during the summer months and I had to rotate the pot every day or at least every other day to keep it straight
Also, I would make sure that it has a really healthy root system so that it can support its trunk ^^
Again, the amount of light comes into play here. I've see some really thin stems... which tend to go curly...
Having enough light means that your stems will be thick enough to support your plant to a greater height :>
