It is not Keiko. It is my seedling of fimbrisepala x subrhomboidea.
But Keiko is different , subrho ...
Naming of Gesneriads and others are a bit strange to me
I only know the strict rules concerning naming of orchids by the Royal Horticulture Society while hybrids made by reverse parantages are all having the same name
Even cultivar ( variable looking sibblings ) can be registered with different names in the gesneriad world
I personally prefer the way orchids is named as hybrid name is clear and all sibblings that do not look alike are treated as cultivar.
Say subrhomboidea x fimbrisepala was named 'Keiko', fimbrisepala x subrhomboidea will still be named as Keiko. All plants originated from these 2 parantages with different appearance will be called Keiko 'Andy', Keiko 'Andyk' etc.
Anyway, this really confused me ~ |
