Your result proves that we may plant vegetables at windowsill.  I am doing the same thing too.  At the beginning, I was afraid of the insufficient of sun light. So I installed LED of red as a replacement of sun light which is good for the last few rainy days.  If the sky is clear, sun light is better than LED light.  Let me upload some photos next time.

umum~i don't know LED red can replace sunlight
BTW....i think most important there is nothing block my window view~ just a small hill opposite my window
