會唔會係話用温水?

Thermometer shows that the "boiling water" soak-treatment can subject the seeds to a wide variety of actual temperatures (as one would expect), depending upon the mass, heat capacity, and heat conductivity of the vessel into which the water is poured, and also upon the volume of water used.
Using a small sturdy wine glass (~100mL capacity) and ~20mL of water from the kettle gave me an actual temperature of ~65degC by the time I got the seeds dropped in after ~1min. Using ~50mL water gave the much higher temperature of ~80degC: quite a difference! I guess there are some fun science experiments to do to establish optimal parameters, but I am not volunteering just now...
I opted to use Chinosol (~0.5g/L) too. Other conditions: 15h day at ~15,000 lux, giving ~75degC. Seeds were all from http://www.succulentseeds.com/
RESULTS:
Bursera hindsiana: rapid 100% germination  of 5 seeds
Bursera fagaroides: 20% germination (so far) of 5 seeds
Boswellia neglecta: no germination yet of 100 seeds
