peat is usually mixed with 10 % vermiculite and 5% perlite to make into soil mix (the type with golden and white little stones) in your case, i would mix 10% sand into peat to increase aeration. If add lime, you should check the packaging to see what pH your peat is... since different peat different pH, what you shoulnt do is add excess lime, since most vegies dont grow well in alkaline soil
tomatoes actually do great in sandy type soil since its roots can easily penetrate, but note that most brassica like pak choi prefers more firm soil
