基肥

Hi Everyone, I am new in this site and would like to learn more how to grow plant.  Can someone tell me what is 基肥 and when should I use it please?  Thanks so much.

In short, 基肥 is the fertilizer you applied on your soil before you seed your plants. 基肥 should be buried deep under rather than applied on the soil surface.

你要種作物就先要打好基肥, 你打算種什麼??在那裏種呢??

I am planning to grow Basil and small Tomato to start with.  I bought some seeds from "flower market" this weekend.
Will grow indoor, next to window. will that be ok?
