Your plant is somewhere in between.

After slight cook/fresh salad
If it taste like 蘿蔔，it is Radish. (It may be America style)
If it taste very sweet and soft, it is rootbeet.

唔係味道問題...........
呢個係紅菜頭.........就算個味似士多啤梨,佢都係紅菜頭(BEETROOT).......
當然有多品種,黃色,橙色,白色,箭靶等等...........

I am afraid you have misleaded by some webpage.
Although some of their look are similar,they belongs to different group~

BEETROOT (Beta vulgaris) is 藜科 Chenopodiaceae
中文可以叫甜菜或者X菜頭(X=紅,金不等)

Radish (Raphanus sativus) is 十字花科 Brassicaceae
中文係蘿蔔

I have planted the one that shown in your picture before.
None of them have layers like onion(the ring is just colour pattern),
it could be stir fried, fired ,making salad etc.
