what I think you mean 'lemon basil' is Thai Basil because it has a bit more citric flavour than others. Thai basil of course in many common thai dishes e.g. thai curry an dispensable ingredient. Some has the flower stem purple some green, but both flowers are white.
'Purple basil' might be referring to the whole plant purple type of basil, that might be the Holy Basil, also being used by Thai for its particularly stronger flavour. I didn't try to cook with them but you might look into Thai recipe which needs holy basil. I saw Thai dried them up recently for storage. Another type of totally purple color basil is from Mexico. Don't know its usage with Mexican food.
肉桂BASIL - don't know which you are referring to. If you are talking abt the most common 'Sweet Basil', of course is for making pesto, and other Mediterranean dishes. I love that! |
