It is a mean of defination.  Some defines white as 'colorless'  --> no color, not a color.

By the way, only the summation of all "colors of light" (in the specific proportion) is white.  Otherwise, it is black.

To be exact is that white reflects all light spectrums and the combination / summation of visible light spectrum is white. Since it is a summation of all visible light spectrums and reflected back by an object, therefore this particular object contains all colors instead of no color.
